Rev. Jim Rosemergy

Prior to entering the ministry, Jim served as a naval aviator in the United States Navy as a navigator on a RA-5C Vigilante reconnaissance jet stationed aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He flew over 100 combat missions over North Vietnam.

Jim was ordained a Unity minister in 1976. His first service to Spirit was to pioneer a ministry in Raleigh, NC that grew from eighteen people to over 300 in seven years. Prayer was the foundation of the church in Raleigh, and it continues to be the heart of ministry for Jim. Next he and his family were guided to move to the Unity Church of Truth in Spokane, WA where Jim continued his emphasis on spiritual awakening. Many new programs were initiated in Spokane that assisted open-minded individuals in their search for purpose and meaning in their lives.

Following the work in Spokane, Jim served as senior minister of the Unity Temple on the Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri. Under his leadership, the ministry expressed the love and power that naturally results when a group of people dedicates themselves to spiritual awakening. From 1990 to July, 2001, Jim served the Unity movement as executive vice president of Unity School of Christianity. From Oct. 2001 to June 2006, he and his wife Nancy were involved once again in pioneering a new Unity ministry, Friends of God Unity Church in Sunrise Beach, MO. Jim is now serving as minister at Unity of Fort Myers, FL.

Rev. Rosemergy is a regular columnist for Unity Magazine and the author of numerous books: A Recent Revelation, Living the Mystical Life Today, The Watcher, The Transcendent Life, A Daily Guide to Spiritual Living, A Closer Walk With God, Even Mystics Have Bills to Pay, The Sacred Human, The Quest for Meaning, The Third Coming, The Prayer that God Prays, Attaining the Unattainable: The Will of God and his most recent book, The Gathering. He is also a contributing author to New Thought for a New Millennium, published by Unity School. In addition to the books, Jim has the following cassettes available: A Closer Walk With God; New Species for the 21st Century; God, My Friend meditation tapes, and the audio book, Even Mystics Have Bills to Pay. Jim has also prepared teacher’s guides for Even Mystics Have Bills to Pay and The Third Coming.

Jim has served the Association of Unity Churches since his ordination. He began on the Bylaws committee, became chair of the Expansion Committee, and was then elected to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. During 1987-88, Jim was elected president of the Association of Unity Churches. Jim is the recipient of 2007 Light of God Expressing Award.

Jim is a popular speaker at Unity ministries and events as well as New Thought spiritual activities.  Usually, once a month, Jim is away from his ministry eagerly sharing his mystical approach to spirituality with open-minded seekers of the truth.

Jim and Nancy have two grown sons who are married to very special young women. Jim has enjoyed athletics all his life. Today, Jim enjoys playing golf and kayaking.
